Vigis Spokas
I am originally from Kaunas, Lithuania. Before moving to Canada 20 years ago, I worked at the Kaunas City Planning and Design Institute, where I got interested in architecture and art.
While in Canada, I took art classes in painting with Joan Ng at her Burlington Artist Gallery and with the sculptor and painting artist Janus at the Dundas School of Art.
In Nova Scotia, I participated in several workshops for sculpting led by Dutch art teacher Ingrid van den Hurk with a group of sculptors from Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
Artists Statement:
My passion lies in creating abstract art. I love exploring different techniques and bringing together shapes and mediums in unexpected ways.
My process in the studio is spontaneous and intuitive, allowing creativity to unfold naturally. Each piece is an experiment with endless possibilities, a journey of discovery through abstraction..
